valentine's day DIY

Now it's almost here, this suspect day
of February 14th!

For this event I want to show you
a little DIY.

My friends already got spoiled with some
self made cosmetics, like cream, air sprays and so on,
for christmas.

Today I want to show you,
how to make quick and easy
WONDERful Body melts.

There are already a few recipes out there
in the WWW, but here we go with my own version.

Here is the list of all the things you need.

I tried to use as little different things as possible to make
it a affordable project for everyone.

The dried petals are just for a nice look on the Body melts
and will fall off after applying.
The ones who like it colorful, just go ahead
and shred some petals of rose, marigold
and hollyhock.

At first prepare the mold,
in case you are not a proud owner of a silicon mold,
you can use biscuit cutters wrapped in aluminum foil
or the shipper carton of candy,
like I did.

Now weigh all ingredients.
Melt the beeswax in a jar in a water bath,
do the same with the coconut oil and the shea butter in another jar.

Don't heat coconut oil and  shea butter over 50 C.

When both is liquid just mix it and add
5 - 10 ml almond oil, depending on how hard you
want the Body melts to be.

If you add more almond oil, the Body melts will
melt quicker.
You should never apply too much,
otherwise it will get to greasy.

Let the mixture cool down and
add the essential oil.

I created a sensual blend of
jasmine, ylang ylang, tonka, tangerine
and cedar.

Most of you probably will not have a whole lot of
essential oils at home, and are not willing
to buy many, since they are quite pricey.

But if you just buy one oil I recommend to buy
lavender essential oil Lavandula angustifolia.
This oil you can use for many occasinos,
such as gnat bites.
You just put it pure on the itchy spot.

Just make sure you buy real natural essential oil,
 of a good quality.

After adding the essential oils to
our liquid Body melt mix, pour the mix
in the prepared molds.
Then let it cool down in the fridge.

Done!

Wrap the Body melts up, maybe in a little tin box
add a massage gift card-
and you don't have to fear valentine's day!

Have fun cooking the Body melts
and of course using them!!!

Yours Lisa
